Maharashtra Cosmopolitan Education Society (MCES), was established in 1948 by Late Mr. Abdul Kadir Khan and others, with the objective of providing education to the economically, educationally, and socially weaker sections of society. It is registered under the Society’s Registration Act of 1860 and the Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. MCES is also registered under section 12(a) of the Income Tax Act 1961 and enjoys exemption under section 80G.
The M.C.E. Society is one of the oldest educational organizations in Pune. From a humble beginning of four schools, it has evolved into an educational complex offering Higher, Medical, Technical, and Professional education in diverse fields such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Education, Pharmacy, Management, Architecture, Dental Sciences, Hospitality Studies, and Information Technology.
The Campus is located in the Cantonment area of Pune, just 1 km from Pul Gate Bus Stand and 2 km from Swargate Terminus, making it easily accessible to students and professionals.
Under the leadership of President Dr. P. A. Inamdar and Vice-President Mrs. Abeda Inamdar, the 75-year-old MCES continues to serve society. Today, it comprises 32 institutes and over 30,000 students within a 24-acre serene and green campus equipped with an auditorium, hostel, canteen, and modern infrastructure.
The Government of India has recognized the development efforts of MCES and Azam Campus. The Society was awarded the first “Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Literacy Award” by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for being one of the best Minority Educational Campuses in India.
The peaceful campus environment is ideal for study and personal development. Facilities include Wi-Fi, a state-of-the-art library, modern classrooms, and advanced laboratories, all aimed at delivering the best education possible.
Significant progress has been made in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities. The infrastructure includes modern labs, a well-equipped library, hostels, and the V.M. Gany Sports Complex. Students have excelled at State and National competitions, while moral and value-based education continues to foster confidence and a positive attitude among learners.
MCES has focused not only on infrastructure but also on building human capital, empowering communities through quality education. The vision is clear—upliftment through education—with a strong sense of responsibility guiding every step.
Azam Sports Ground – the heart of the campus and a training hub for many national-level athletes.
