Admission Policy

Policy of Admissions

  • The University shall be open to all persons irrespective of gender, caste, creed, religion, race or class, and it shall not be lawful for the University to adopt or impose on any person any test whatsoever of religious belief or profession in order to entitle him/her to be admitted as a student in the University or to graduate thereat or to enjoy or exercise any privilege.
  • The University shall maintain an all-India character and high standards of teaching and research and shall provide merit-based admission in a fair and transparent manner. The merit of a student will be strictly determined through a common national-level entrance examination conducted by the University either individually or jointly with others.
  • Admission in the University shall be open to Indian citizens, Non-Resident Indians, and persons of Indian origin. However, the University shall also admit foreign students as per the Government of India and State Government guidelines. Titles, eligibility criteria, and duration of degree programs shall be strictly as per the UGC regulations. Lateral entry shall be allowed only as per provisions of regulatory bodies. Equivalence for entry-level eligibility shall be decided as per the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). No students from unrecognized boards or universities shall be admitted or granted a degree.
  • For NRI/Foreign students, admission shall be made on merit of marks obtained in the qualifying examinations as per regulatory provisions.
  • Where admissions are to be given by an agency determined by the State or Central Government, the University shall follow the prescribed norms.
  • The University may consider scores from entrance tests conducted by other national/state-level agencies appointed by the government.
  • Students enrolled in other recognized universities in the country may migrate with Academic Council approval, as per regulatory provisions.
  • Admission:
    • Admissions and enrollment in various programs shall be in accordance with University Ordinances.
    • All admissions will be strictly based on merit.
    • Merit may be based on qualifying exam performance, co-curricular achievements, or entrance test results. Technical and professional programs require entrance tests.
    • The number of seats in programs shall be fixed by the Board of Management based on recommendations of the Academic Council and approval of the Chancellor.
    • Reservations will be as per State Government policy.

Number of Seats in the University

The Board of Management, on recommendation from the Academic Council and with Chancellor approval, shall fix program-wise seat numbers for each academic session considering faculty, infrastructure, and regulatory permissions.

Alteration of Seats in Different Programs

  • The Academic Council may propose seat alterations via the Vice Chancellor.
  • The Vice Chancellor shall submit recommendations to the Board of Management with reasons.
  • With Chancellor’s approval, the Board of Management may approve alterations except where specific seat limits are fixed by regulatory bodies.

Reservation of Seats

  • Seats shall be reserved for SC, ST, OBC, Special Backward Classes, Women, and Physically Challenged candidates as per State Government policy.
  • Government rules shall apply for eligibility of reserved category candidates.
